Tractive GPS Tracker for Dogs

Tractive is my new favourite toy! So much information about your dogs activity, calories and sleep patterns… I never knew Elsa slept so much!

So starting with her profile page, you enter all your dogs Information Age, Breed, Sex and you can even link it to your instagram account. Adding a photo is is a great way to be on the leaderboard, I will come back to this. Their characteristics, age, breed, sex help create the suggested activity goal for your dog… Elsa’s was 120 minutes a day, this is a combination of walks and play time.

A little like my Apple Watch you get activity badges when you reach certain milestones… which is always good being told you are doing something right!

The map section will be the tab on the app you use the most. Elsa is an escape artist so creating a virtual fence on the map surrounding my house/garden I am alerted when she’s escaped….Then I just follow the map to her, where her exact location is shown with the ‘distance to’ highlighted.

I mainly use this section for when I take her out to record the walks, you do need to start and stop the walk…but no different to recording your runs on your running apps. This will be brilliant for when you have a dog walker to ensure they record the walk and you can monitor that they are actually walking your dog for the full time you are paying for…not just sat in a car park passing time!

Wellness section… is clearly hands down my favourite part of the app and GPS tracker.

Monitoring my dogs calories that it burns is amazing! it reports to me when Elsa was active and what time of the day! Knowing your dogs quality of your dogs fitness is imperative to your dogs health and well-being, comparing it to similar breeds… nice to know Elsa is above average!

Monitoring my dogs sleep and patterns is fascinating! I knew dogs slept but some days vary from 12 hours to 18 hour days!! (I am a little jealous). getting a average breakdown of night sleep, day sleep, calm periods of her day. Knowing your dogs quality of sleep is important for your dogs health and well-being.

The LEADERBOARD… I always thought I was competitive but looking at the current months leaderboard to see where Elsa rates in the local area pushes me to give her that extra 5-10 minutes if my days allow… and is a little bit of fun.
