Heaton Park – Coming Soon

Walk meeting point:

The park has an excellent network of footpaths to explore, connecting the park to nearby Ouseburn Park, Armstrong Park and Jesmond Dene.

The beautiful Victorian Pavilion and Terrace, dating back to 1880 is a focal point and the perfect spot on a sunny day to watch the world go by and enjoy the fine views across the park. Refurbished in 2011 with Heritage Lottery Funding, the Pavilion is home to the popular Sambuca Italian restaurant.

This park boasts two excellent play areas and plenty of open spaces for informal games and family fun.

Look out for the 13th century ruins of King John’s Palace (a fortified manor house) and the original gates and pillars to the park still exist at the entrance off Heaton Park View and Heaton Road.
