Herne Bay Memorial Park – Coming Soon

Walk meeting point:

Herne Bay Memorial Park is situated in the heart of the town and offers a wide range of outdoor activities for the whole community. It has formal planted gardens, mature trees, a lake, a play area and several sporting facilities. The lake is large and although not available for fishing, it is used for model boats, and is home to lots of ducks who are always keen to be fed and are usually not disappointed! The war memorial garden at the end of a tree lined avenue has benches and a wonderful display of flowers and is a tranquil place to sit. The park has several interesting planted areas including more formal gardens, sensory gardens, and a community kitchen garden –maintained by organisations within the local community. For those people looking for a more active time there are several tennis courts and a large grassed area for ball games. A recent addition to the park is the children’s play area with an interesting range of fixed equipment. Access to the park is good and all paths around the park are surfaced. The main entrance has a small car park with one allocated disabled space. There is also unrestricted parking in the residential streets near other entrances.
